Dickman Farms Receives VeriFlora® Certified

Dickman Farms joined the ranks of the horticulture industry’s top greenhouse production facilities when it was designated by VeriFlora® for growing certified sustainable floral products including vegetative liners, finished annuals, perennials, herbs, ground covers, hardy mums and hanging baskets in an environmentally and socially responsible manner.

Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) – a global leader in third-party certification of environmental performance and sustainability claims – awarded the certification to Dickman Farms as the program’s developer and administrator.  Particular attention is paid to chemical and fertilizer use, environmental protocols, fuel usage, recycling, and the company’s overall carbon footprint.  The sustainability certification process also reviews how a company interacts with its employees and the local community.

Size: 365,000 sq. ft. under cover, 6 acres of outdoor production
Main Crops: Young plants sold through Ball Seed Company to other growers.  Finished annuals and perennials sold to independent garden centers.
Shipping: Temperature controlled trucks for wholesale deliveries of all finished plants and 80% of all starter plants. Commercial airfreight and FedEx is utilized as an additional shipping method.
